چکیده

We perform the numerically exact diagonalization study of the t-J model with nonmagnetic impurities to clarify the relation between Zn impurities and the stripes. By examining the hole-hole correlation function for a two-hole √ 18× √ 18 cluster with a single impurity, we find that the impurity has a tendency to stabilize vertical charge stripes. This tendency is caused by the gain of the kinetic energy of holes moving along the stripes that are formed avoiding the impurity.

The Effect of Ni and Zn Doping in Bi-2212 from Tunneling Measurements. The MCS Model of the High-Tc Superconductivity in Hole-Doped Cuprates

We use Ni and Zn impurities doped into Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+x (Bi2212) to test the MS (Magnetic polaron Spinon) model proposed earlier. We present electron-tunneling spectroscopy of pure, Niand Zn-doped Bi2212 single crystals below Tc using a break-junction technique. We show that magnetic (Ni) and nonmagnetic (Zn) impurities doped into CuO2 planes affect both the Tc and the density of states in Bi221...

Suppression of superconductivity in high - T c cuprates due to nonmagnetic impurities : Implications for the order parameter symmetry

Suppression of superconductivity in high-T c cuprates due to nonmagnetic impurities: Implications for the order parameter symmetry We studied the effects of nonmagnetic impurities on high-temperature superconductors by solving the Bogoliubov-de Gennes equations on a two-dimensional lattice via exact diagonalization technique in a fully self-consistent way. We found that s-wave order parameter i...

Interplay of quantum magnetic and potential scattering around Zn or Ni impurity ions in superconducting cuprates

To describe the scattering of superconducting quasiparticles from nonmagnetic (Zn) or magnetic (Ni) impurities in optimally doped high Tc cuprates, we propose an effective Anderson model Hamiltonian of a localized electron hybridizing with dx2−y2-wave BCS type superconducting quasiparticles with an attractive scalar potential at the impurity site. Due to the strong local antiferromagnetic coupl...

Impurity Effects on Quasiparticle c-Axis Planar Tunneling and STM Spectra in High-Tc Cuprates

We present self-consistent calculations of the electronic structure near strongly scattering impurities in cuprate superconductors described by a realistic band structure and order parameter magnitude. Energies and highly asymmetric line shapes of resonances, changes in gap-edge features, and local changes in the order parameter are determined for magnetic and nonmagnetic potentials. Experiment...

Angle-resolved photoemission in high Tc cuprates from theoretical viewpoints

The angle-resolved photoemission (ARPES) technique has been developed rapidly over the last decay, accompanied by the improvement of energy and momentum resolutions. This technique has been established as the most powerful tool to investigate the high Tc cuprate superconductors. We review recent ARPES data on the cuprates from a theoretical point of view, with emphasis on the systematic evoluti...
